Released

Had to let him know
That two wrongs could never make a right
Had to let him go
Because I can no longer feel the love inside
I felt so hurt and betrayed
But realized I'd done the same thing
So I released him into the night;
And wished him A Quiet Time

Well I pray your "Release" has been a blessing.

I think life in itself is a blessing.
Hurt, betrayal, lack of trust, etc. can cause an environment in which we cannot fully embrace our blessings due to the negativity that surrounds some of our situations.
It is in the aftermath-when we ask God for forgiveness and we also forgive, that our true blessings are more visible to us.
As with any of my poems, I speak for the masses...through my own personal experiences and the experiences of others. "Released" is one that admits that in some relationships, both parties are at fault in one way or another-and so there is no finger to point blame towards...because in fact, when we point a finger towards some one, there are three more fingers and a thumb (depending on how you point) pointing back at us.
It's my hope that people who read "Released" can find comfort in knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
God-Bless,
